Dylan's Squares Pattern

OK. How do you piece these blocks? I'm glad you asked! Easy, easy and quick, quick.
Block #1

Select one 6-1/8" squares of the floral print and pair with four of the cream triangles. One goes on each side as shown.
Block #1
Sew a triangle to two opposing sides as shown in the second diagram. Press seams toward the triangles (away from the center). Add the last two triangles to the remaining two opposing sides, sew and press as before. Block now measures 8-1/2" unfinished. Make a total of 8 blocks.

Block #2
Select a 5-1/2" square of the cream woodblock print, two blue 2" x 5-1/2' strips and two 2" x 8-1/2".

Sew the two 2" x 5-1/2" to the top and bottom of the center square. Press seams toward the blue strips. Add the remaining two 2" x 8-1/2" strips to the sides and press as before. Block now measures 8-1/2" unfinished. Make a total of 8 blocks.
Quilt Assembly Diagram
Join the horizontal rows as shown, pressing the seams toward the Block #2s. Join the 4 rows and press seams well. Note the placement of the border rectangles. Refer to the color photo.

Layer with quilt back, batting and quilt as desired. Binding: cut 5 strips 2-1/4" x wof and seam together into long row. Join to quilt using your favorite binding method.
