I Love YOUR Quilts!

They've been piling up, those fabulous quilt pictures from YOU. Projects you've made from my patterns either from here on my blog or from a class you've taken from me. I thought I would take some time to honor your work. This will take a few weeks because I'm already up to 40+ pictures! Did I say "WOW" yet?

These are in no particular order. But you will agree with me that they are each beautiful.

This is from Alice W. of Maryland who took my Modern Vortex class (center block). She added all those extra blocks to turn this into a Quilt of Valor. Very, very clever. Lucky recipient!

Next are some finished quilts from a guild in Canada. These are 4 of the ones entered in the Medicine Hat Quilt Show. Can you believe these? The 2015 Galaxy of Stars BOM is still available here. See tab at the top of this page (or click that link).

This is Daria B.' Modern Vortex quilt from a class I taught in Delaware a few months ago. This pattern still has a lot of interest and I still offer it as a class.

And Dawn P. decided that one Modern Vortex wasn't enough. She made 9 of them for this gorgeous quilt center. Dawn took a class from me through the Sewing Expo (though I can't remember which city!) Way to go, Dawn!

Here is the Dear John quilt made by John of Maryland. He used 96 blocks from my Quilter's Block a Day calendar. He used the Dear Jane quilt as his inspiration and many of the outside border blocks are his own design. I am still blown away by his creativity.

Fern Fancy from my book, Paper Piecing Perfect Points. This is not my pattern but appears in my book from Kathryn Wagar Wright of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. Can you believe all that piecing? Such a gorgeous quilt.

Cupid's Arrows was a class I taught about 15 times and is based on my quilt in the same book. I took only 3 blocks and created a runner (or wall banner) pattern for students. This is from Dawn P. also. I think her setting triangle fabric is fabulous!

This is from Amy O. of North Carolina. I think she also sent me a pic of the finished quilt, but I can't find it in my email. When I do, I will post it here. This BOM was so VERY popular and I've seen quite a few finished quilt tops.

Ann D. of Alabama sent this Quilt of Valor top based on my Red Hot Flash pattern.

I have uploaded it today so you can enjoy making this, too. It is perfect for Jelly Roll strips of 2-1/2". The pattern makes an 11" (approximate) size block and is 59" x 70" with the piano key borders (not shown here)

OK. Just two more for now. This is one of my 8 Gee's Bend patterns (yes, I had permission to pattern these. Windham Fabrics partnered with the women of Gee's Bend and they profited very well from the kits and patterns sold. I had to put that in here because I always get emails from horrified people thinking I did this without their permission.)

This is the Housetop 4 Block quilt sewn by Dana C. I'll show you the pattern and the original after her quilt.

This is the Housetop 4 Block by Mary Bennett of Gee's Bend. Windham asked me to pattern this improvisational quilt.

And, finally, my rendition of Mary's work:

That should do it for now. I have a few dozen more to share next week. Hope you enjoyed the show. I know I did!
