ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on how to cut the jewels with regular rulers. It is a toss-up between the tri-color and the hearts, but I think the hearts are speaking to mo more.

Clever way to use your ruler! For me it's close between blocks 1 & 2, but I'll give the edge to block 1. As a Pittsburgh native I've just got to love some black & gold!

Hi, Debby! So glad you are part of the blog hop! All 3 blocks are great but if I have to choose I like #1 Daffodil best. I love the hope that blooms with the daffodils in the spring and the yellow in this block just POPS with its background. I can see many ways to make all 3 blocks from my stash. Looks like I can branch out even further in 2016 for my giveaways. Thanks for the gem tutorial and thanks as always for inspiration and encouragement. See you next expo. To my eye (possibly on my monitor), the green and blue brought down the 'pop' value and almost made the blocks look a little muddy. Great potential, though. I like the #3 Hearts block the best. I love hearts. I have necklaces and earrings and fabric and love to quilt hearts into the quilting on my quilts.

ReplyDeleteAt first I thought #1 was my favorite (maybe because our quild's quilt show thee this year is two color quilts) but the more I looked at the three blocks I decided Block #2 is my favorite. I am thinking that using bold jewel tones with block two would make a breathtaking quilt.
