Thanksgiving Week Colors: Rainbow Saturday

Did you survive yesterday's crowds or did you just take the chicken way out and stay home and sew. I did! Saturday is for RAINBOW colors. I love to mix a lot of colors in my quilts.

Remember my Cookie Cutter Block of the Month series? Each of these 10" blocks is FREE. Come back tomorrow for the December block! Can you guess which one it is? You can find links to the various blocks on the right sidebar and also by using the search bar and typing in "Cookie Cutter."

Yes, I really like BRIGHT colors. Here is a class sample for when I teach English Paper Piecing. This uses Fossil Ferns for those hexagons.

Here is that small Royal Star block that I made into a mug rug. This uses Fossil Ferns and black. Don't you love that rainbow striped binding?!

And a quilt I made a few years ago with a very bright collection from Benartex. Lots of color here!

Bits of Color
98 Dancing Squares was in my first book. Also appeared in Quilt Magazine. Oldie, but still colorful.

I also remade it last year using the Uncorked Collection by Windham Fabrics. Still a riot of rainbow colors.

Remember my Modern Vortex? Well, here it is in rainbow colors! (The directions for this variation are also included with the red two-color version.)

The next quilt uses a collection of fabrics by Amanda Murphy called Free Motion Fantasy. I used my Circle of Geese pattern. Love this riot of color here!

You saw this a few months ago. Another collection by Amanda called Geo Pop. This is a variation of the traditional Seven Sisters.

I guess I should stop. This is my latest quilt called Sunburst. It is a traditional Trip Around the World using some little motifs in a Kaffe Fassett collection. It has since returned from the long arm quilter and it's ready for some binding. Very rainbow-y here.

Well, that's it for the colors for now. Yes, I left out green. And purple. And yellow. But when I get bummed out for the lack of sunny days in November and December, I can find a lot of color and sunshine in my sewing room. Hope you enjoyed the week of colors!
