Kimono Week: Day 2 and a FREE pattern

Are you back? Lovely! Here is a vintage kimono made from sashiko stitched fabrics. Isn't this divine?

Sashiko panels create a gorgeous kimono
Let's see my two pieces of hand stitched sashiko. I have plans to put these into a quilt, but probably not a kimono:

Started 20+ years ago. I'm a little slow. . .
And the 12" square that I'm considering putting into a quilt of some sort.
12" square
I showed this square to my sister and she said, "Did you stitch that?!!!" She has never done any hand work, so I'll forgive her.

Here is a free pattern, but it's not technically a kimono quilt. The name of the fabric collection is Kitty Kimono by Benartex (2009). The design is mine and the fabrics were so sweet. The block is a vintage block called Blazing Star. Notice the kitties in kimono. This was given to a little girl who I'm sure still loves it. This pattern also appeared in my 2014 Wall Calendar of quilts.

This pattern was called Good Luck Kitty. Check it out. See you tomorrow for Windham Wednesdays and my special kimono quilt made from the Sashiko collection. You don't want to miss it!
