New York Beauty or Dogwood Blossom Workshop

New York Beauty is composed of 3 different units. My workshop teaches how to stitch them using paper piecing. This is an all day workshop (or can be split into two 3 hour classes over 2 days). Sorry - I can't teach you how to machine quilt this! Jane Hauprich can!

New York Beauty

Dogwood Blossom is one of the three components. This quilt was made 15 years ago using only Dogwood Blossom blocks. New York Beauty uses four of these blocks in the quilt center.

We also learn in this workshop how to paper piece the Dogtooth borders. We precut strips ahead of time and the use of an Add-a-Quarter ruler is a must!

And what about those Lone Stars in the four corners? We paper piece them, too!

Dogwood Blossom is a stand alone workshop. I have made several quilts with this as my latest one. Note how I've arranged the 12 blocks. We learn how to set these blocks on point, too!

Dogwood Blossom can fit into a 3-4 hour workshop. Here is one more quilt from several years ago. It was published in a Fons and Porter magazine.

So, take your pick. We learn about stitching curves, too! Contact me (kratovil@his.com) for more details, with any questions and a Supply List.
