Block a Day Calendar Errata Page

Yes, it's true. But when you have humans creating and editing something manmade, there's gonna be some error. We had a super team of editors, but sometimes these slip through. Here you will find updates on a few of the blocks in my Quilter's New Perpetual Block a Day Calendar by C&T Publishing, first edition (which sold out October 2025)

THEY HAVE SINCE BEEN UPDATED IN THE SECOND EDITION, back in stores now.

My first copy right out of the shipping box!

Please note that I am not offering a line drawing of the blocks, just the patch error and correction. Since you own the calendar, it will make sense. Make the correction as you see fit (mark on calendar page directly; use a sticky note, etc). If confused, you can email me: kratovil@his.com

ERROR #1;

. . . is the March 30 block, Picnic Patch. You can see it on the calendar cover above at the bottom. My version uses a lively print in the center. The ERROR is in the cutting of the C Patch (the purple rectangle). The calendar says to cut 2-1/2" x 3-1/2". (That is not the way I designed it.) The CHANGE is to cut the C Patch 2" x 3-1/2".

March 30 Picnic Patch (12")

ERROR #2:

. . . is the April 2 block, Antique Tile. There are 3 patches (2 different sized squares and a rectangle). The C Patch (square) has the right cutting size, but the diagonal line (which indicates cutting into triangles) is WRONG. Just cut the C patches at 3-1/2" for squares.

April 2 Antique Tile (18" x 18")

ERROR #3:

. . . is August 12, Basket of Squares. We left out Patch D cut at 3-7/8" and then into 2 triangles!

ERROR #4:

. . . is the December 6 block, Jerusalem. The B patch should NOT have a diagonal line. It is a square (not to become triangles). See the block below? No triangles!

December 6 Jerusalem Block (10" x 10")

ERROR #5:
. . . is the June 17 block, Alaska Homestead. There are two patches. A is the square (incorrectly labeled B) and B is the square with single diagonal line (incorrectly labeled C).

June 17 Alaska Homestead Block (10" x 10"

ERROR #6:
. . . is the December 5 block, Star of Hope

Star of Hope: 16"

The line drawing of the block is totally wrong! Here is how it should look (for the 18" block):

Correct cutting info for Star of Hope - only Patch E is not represented correctly in calendar

  • Patch A cutting is correct in the calendar
  • Patch B cutting is correct in the calendar
  • Patch C cutting is correct in the calendar
  • Patch D cutting is correct in the calendar
  • Patch E in the calendar is a rectangle (shown here). Cut Patch E 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".
ERROR #7:
. . . is the December 9 block, Rosebud. We forgot to add the Patch F measurement of 1-1/2" x 4-1/2". You will find them as the long rectangles on the outside block edges.
