I am part of Day 5 in the Novelty Prints Blog Hop over at the
Sew in Love with Fabric blog. Sometimes you see a great set of novelty prints and know exactly who you will make something for. I'm sharing how I used some wonderful police and firemen fabrics to make a few things for my little grandsons, who are 2 and 4 years old.
This is all I have left of the
Firefighters Rock Collection.
But you can see all the awesome images from a mascot dalmatian wearing a fire hat to a huge fire engine and even a red fire hydrant!
Let's not forget our policemen. Can you believe there is handcuff fabric and fingerprint fabric? This was fun to work with.
Head on over to
Sew in Love with Fabric to see what I made. Lots of pictures!
I love these fabric collections... especially the fingerprints, too cool! The Sheriff is none other than your daughter!! Your kids must have had a hoot playing!
ReplyDeleteLove the cute karate outfits you made for the deputies! (The sheriff is your daughter!)Thanks for a fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNow I like that the vest was done that way rather than leaving the shoulders to fuss that finish. The fingerprint fabric is very cool and my munchkins would love pillowcases like that. Ah, the keeper of the keys - your daughter.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter! What fun fabric :)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter! Love what you made with the fabric.

ReplyDeleteLove that your daughter got to be the sheriff!!!!
ReplyDeleteMuzz (your daughter) is the sheriff. Little boys grow up to be firefighters and cops, and the first responders on whom we all depend. These fabrics would be excellent to use in quilts to honor them on Patriots Day (9/11).
ReplyDeleteThose are such fun little things for your grandkids to play with. I am sure they have a blast. So? Since you've promoted your daughter to being Sheriff, did you make her a vest too maybe? LOL
ReplyDeleteThe sheriff is your daughter! :) My son would love this! sarah@forrussia.org

ReplyDeleteYour daughter is the boys' sheriff. Great fabrics and tutorial. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSmart thinking to give the keys to your daughter so she could free the innocence captives. You're right about patterns, they don't make them like they used to and they seem to be more of a pain in the rear than they were. Thanks for being a part of the hop and for the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI am happy to report your daughter is the Sheriff. And I can't wait to get the fabric to make a pillowcase. I know an adult or two that would love one for theory's cabins. I do not have an ID, my email is shades@shaw.ca. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWell, your daughter of course!! My best friend's son is a fire fighter and his wife is a Navy officer. I think if they ever have a baby I'll have to make a reversible quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter! love the fabrics. We are using similar fireman fabric to back quilts our guild is making for the local firehouses in our county.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter and these are awesome! A dear friend who is a police officer will be retiring next year after 25 years of service so I'm going to have to grab some of these prints for his retirement quilt! pbstrand@msn.com
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is the Sheriff in your story. Hey, I really like fabrics! One of our Police Officers was shot and killed (his twin is a State Trooper) and I have offered to make a memory quilt for his family (wife and 3 small children). This would be absolutely perfect! Thank you for the giveaway opportunity!
