The Zig and Zag of Hexies

Image
I made a project a few years ago from a set of 2" English Paper Pieced (EPP) hexagons. I called it "The Zig and Zag of Hexies." It was made with Bella fabrics from Windham and I published it with Cut Loose Press (a division of Creative Grids rulers) for quilt shops. 2" EPP hexies from the Bella Collection And my Hexie string: A string of 2" hexagons Makes this fun Zig Zag table runner . Of course, being so "modern" looking, one of my daughter's immediately made a claim on it. This lives in Pittsburgh with her and her family. More Log Cabin Creations

Image
My friend Jean Ann Wright (who used to be my editor at Quilt Magazine for 14 years) has developed two more Log Cabin Trim Tools. One is 4" and the other is 6". Yes, small blocks. But I had a wonderful time working with my scraps to make these two projects: This is Diamond in the Logs and was made using the 4" ruler. Yes, there are 16 blocks! Diamond in the Logs : 23" x 23" These are quilt shop exclusive. I don't sell them myself. Check with your local shop. Here is a Sewing & Needle Case I also made, only this time with two 6" blocks: Sewing and Needle Book I enjoy making log cabin blocks. It is a great way to use up scraps. My gray, white and red one used several different prints. And my little sewing book used quite a few. Thanks for stopping by. I have a few more things up my sleeve and I'm going back to my sewing machine for now!

I designed a butterflies pattern for Cut Loose Press using Jean Ann Wright's 6" Curvy Log Cabin ruler . My little quilt uses browns, which don't inspire me in the midst of the color riot in Spring. Sunshine Butterflies. 47" x 47" A Wisconsin quilt shop, Quilting Divas Sewing Boutique, sent me their finished quilt that they are featuring during their shop hop in June. Isn't this just the cheeriest? Sunshine Butterflies by Quilting Divas The Wisconsin State Shop Hop is in June, so those of you who live there are in for a treat. Here is the info for the Quilting Divas: Quilting Divas Sewing Boutique LLC 445 Cardinal Ln Ste 108 Green Bay WI 54313 920-434-9980 quiltingdivassew@gmail.com You can order the pattern from me, but you MUST have the 6" ruler for the pattern to make sense. It was designed and created using that ruler. Three of the blocks make one butterfly (the head and antennae are appliqued to a plain square). So, each butterfly is...
