Partnering with Sew We Quilt blog
Well, it's time to get some more free stuff out there. I am the Queen of Free - patterns, that is. This block is mirrored at the Sew We Quilt web site and I understand it is a very busy and awesome site. Today, Monday, May 7, one of the blocks from my 2011 Block a Day calendar will be posted there. For those who aren't familiar with these calendars, they are published by Andrews McMeel and I have been creating them since 2006. I currently am finishing up the 2014 calendar (what? aren't we still in 2012?) The blog chosen by the moderator on Sew We Quilt is my "Celebrate" block. It's easy to appliqué and is fantastic to make and have on hand for ALL celebrations! Cake is where it's at. In fact, the title of my imaginary autobiography is "Is There Any Cake in the House?!?" I love cake and I know you'll love this block. Here are the directions for making the block (see below) and also the FULL SIZE TEMPLATES in a downloadable pdf.
All printed and ready to go! I'm taking a class from Laura Wasilowski (sp?!!) in a couple of weeks - and I'm sure her fusing tricks will come in handy with your patterns!! Once again, thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the Cake. I plan on turning it into a mug rug, if I get it done. Thanks again from your newest follower(Via sew we quilt)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the awesome cake! I have NEVER appliqued but if/when I do I'd like a slice of your cake. ;D
ReplyDeleteDebbie, sew nice to meet you! I've loved your calendars! And thanks for the adorable cake block, so cute. Also, I really appreciate "Anatomy of a Quilt" - I teach a lot of quilting classes and sometimes you need to start at the very beginning... I look forward to following your new adventures in blogland.
ReplyDeleteDebby,
ReplyDeleteI love your Dotty Hootie Owl!! And I'm a BIG follower of you and YOUR patterns. Thanks for the chance to win your calendar!!
