FINALLY have a winner of the 10" bundle of Fudge fabrics. Nancy R. of Virginia is the lucky winner.
I have NEW POLICY. There is a 24 hour limit from the time I select a winner and I've notified her (or him). Then I pick another person. If you don't check your email but once or twice a week (and I did have someone take an entire week to get ahold of me, after I chose a second name!) - then I apologize ahead of time. My blog, my rules, my prizes. If that doesn't sit well with you, then, OH FUDGE I say!
Yes, it's true. I feature
Fudge today that contains no calories. You can consume as much as you wish and not fear gaining a single pound.
Today is Technique Tuesday over at the
Sew in Love with Fabric blog (
Benartex) and I have a quick tutorial using these luscious, no-calorie fabrics. Quite yummy!
I selected 6 of the squares to go with some letters I made last February using a reds collection from Benartex. You can see the reds
HERE.
Remember these
letters? Here is the link to the
LETTERS. I found it a few years ago for a tutorial for making rag letters for kids.
|
Now what did she do with these letters? Hmmm? |
Here's what I did with the
LOVE letters.
|
LOVE is in the air |
Go see what I did with the rest of them at the
Sew in Love with Fabric blog today.
Then come back here and let me know you visited and saw the tutorial. You will then be entered in a GIVEAWAY for a BUNDLE of 10" squares of
Oh Fudge, just like the one at the top of this page.
Tell me what your favorite sweet is (candy, cake, pie, ice cream) and you'll be entered to win that bundle of yummy 10" squares. Contest is over Tuesday, February 16.
I am a huge fan of all things caramel, the chewier the better. Yum. This lovely fabric looks like a smarter, safer option for me! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial - thank you!! I scream for ice cream ;)
ReplyDeleteWonder quilt. I've clicked thru your links searching for more info to try to find out which font you used for your letters. I love the bold size. And LOVE is certainly perfect for Valentines, Weddings, Engagements and so much more.
ReplyDeleteBTW - I love just about every dessert there is. But TimTam cookies and a cup of tea are probably my best way to enjoy something sweet. Even better if I have an opportunity to enjoy with a quilt friend.

Well, I like lots of sweets, but try hard not to overindulge. Probably my current favorite is a refrigerated pie I make from a Hershey's recipe. It's called Mocha Bavarian Pie (or something like that) and is delicious without being too rich.

ReplyDeleteI love just about all and any chocolate, but my go to treat at night is Pecan Turtle Trail ice cream. I did visit the site. Wish I did more with letters.
ReplyDeleteJust forgot to say thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to pick one I would go with ice cream for the creamy goodness that plays well with just about anything put into it (salted pecans and caramel = yum!!). I started on Sew in Love today (for a change) so saw that info before coming over to see what you did with LOVE this time. Thanks for sharing and continued inspirations! ReplyDeleteI actually saw the tutorial before I came over here. My favorite sweet tends to change depending on the season. I'm backward on the ice cream as I love it in winter. ReplyDeleteLove the tutorial and the quilt. I miss eating ice cream and caramel.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial! I love dark chocolate.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sweet treat is chocolate crazy cake with fluffy marshmallow frosting. And I love the tipsy blocks framing the letters. When I saw the chickens framed by the Peaky triangles last year, they had me thinking I could put foundation pieced hearts in tipsy blocks for a Valentine's Day tablerunner. I didn't get to the project this year. Maybe next.
ReplyDeleteI thought your tutorial was very thorough, as usual. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite treat is marzipan, although that is more of a "special occasion" thing. For the day-to-day treats, I indulge in pie. We have a great little pie shop here in our little town.
I checked out your tutorial, and I also went to find the downloads for the upper and lower case letters too! T love chocolates more than any other sweet - totally mood elevating.

ReplyDeleteSaw your great tutorial. My favorite sweet---chocolate chip cookies!,!!!!!! Love them.
ReplyDeleteReally love this Debby. What's funny is that two days ago Missouri Star Quilt Co. had that exact layer cake on their daily deal and I set a reminder to come up throughout the day as I considered buying it because it was a great price. My 4yr old (tomorrow she turns four as it's her birthday) Granddaughter knows when she comes to visit Grandma there is a container waiting for her that always has a special treat in it. Those treats are always chocolate. Always! The first thing she does is run to my sewing room where I always am, gives me a big hug and then says, Grandma do you have chocolate? HA. That's so funny, because she KNOWS I always have chocolate. Of course, she says it with a silly grin because she knows it's there. lol
ReplyDeleteAnd she is the reason I contemplated buying that layer cake all day long. I thought it would be just perfect to make something for her, but honestly, I have a lot of other fabrics to make her many things and really couldn't spend the money so at the end of the day, I killed my reminder and passed on buying that layer cake. And then YOU the very next day posted this adorable project using that exact fabric and a super cute project to use it on along with those great red fabrics too. Really made me upset that I'd passed on buying the daily deal so now I am hoping I will win one from you.
I already checked out your post at Sew in Love With Fabric and commented there as well.
And then you ask me to choose my favorite sweet? Really? Is that honestly possible? Give me all of them and I'm a happy camper. But, since you asked us to choose, my absolute favorite candy would have to be the Fannie May Truffle Petites which are the originals they make before expanding to the specialty Truffles with all the flavors. The petites are just perfect plain chocolate truffles. But, if out shopping and I happen to get near the candy aisle and I see Riesen I find it next to impossible to pass them up. Perfect chocolate caramel candies which I have a very hard time not eating them if they are in the house. They are SO good. And yes, my granddaughter loves those as well, but they are never in her special container. She just takes them too if they are in Grandma's sewing room. I'm SURE you can't tell she's totally spoiled. LOL
Love the material in this quilt. I love anything chocolate. Make a lot of chocolate bars and some chocolate cakes, especially german chocolate cake.
ReplyDeleteI love anything chocolate - I LOVE Dark the best, but my favorite candy is Reese's regular peanut butter cups!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have some beautiful brown prints saved to do a candy bar quilt one day, so this fabric would work really well! LOL!
Do I have a favorite sweet? It depends on what is available when I want something sweet, last night it was a cherry Tootsie pop, Last weekend it was apple cobbler. Chocolate is always good too.
ReplyDeleteI love dark chocolate, especially Fannie May. I buy them by the paper bag and stick them in the freezer or I would never have any will power at all. Love the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteI went and saw the tutorial. Good one. Favorite sweet is most sweets except dark chocolate. Peach ice cream most favorite but not available all the time. Husbands is pumpkin pie so I make that a lot and have one piece, lol.

ReplyDeleteI like your use of triangles to assure the sides of the blocks are on the straight of the grain. Kicking my self for not odering the layer cake when it was on special. It is just too cute.
