Charity Quilt Finishes and FREE Pattern
I have my two winners: Becky and Susan. Now, ladies, we all want to see what you do!
I love making scrappy quilts and pulling from all sorts of fabric collections until I have a quilt the size I want. Here are a few recent quilt top finishes that will be quilted by a guild friend and then donated to our local charity endeavors.
Monsters and Aliens quilt top: 38" x 38" |
The center fabric was in a guild giveaway pile - just a 12" square. I surrounded it with all sorts of colorful scraps and finished it off with another wild fabric from another giveaway pile. Some little kid is going to love this!
This next one used the very last piece of Baby Safari fabrics from 2009. I love these dancing animals and I was able to make some bright 4-Patch blocks to stretch the size to 38" x 38". The border is from the Wild Things Collection by P and B Textiles.

The next quilt I've made many, many times. It's one of the easiest patterns and has appeared in my books and in fabric companies' online offerings. I used the Cottage Joy Collection by Windham. The block is 30" x 30" and I call it Big Block Stars (that's the GIVEAWAY as a digital pdf).

And one more that uses some 1930s reproduction prints. I had a 12-1/2" square of that center fabric and then surrounded it with all sorts of bright and fun prints. I added the outer border to finish it off. All prints are from various Windham Collections.

To win a FREE digital pattern for the Big Block Stars, just leave a comment (either here or send an email to kratovil@his.com) telling me which quilt is your favorite. I will have TWO WINNERS!
If you are a "no-reply" commenter, then I have to go to the next person. It's a weird Google thing, so make sure I have your email!
CONTEST IS OVER SUNDAY DECEMBER 4 AT MIDNIGHT EST!
I am taking these to my guild quilter to do her magic. Then she returns them to me for the binding. I'll share those finished photos when that happens.
I love Baby Safari Dancing Animals: 38" x 38" the best. I need to make for new great grand baby.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nancy. Yes, Baby Safari was a super way for me to squeeze something out of those remainder scraps! (And I figured out how to reply on my blog - using my laptop! Go figure)
DeleteI love the Baby Safari Dancing Animals as well!

Yes, a fun quilt. Thanks, Sharon for your vote!
DeleteCottage Joy is a winner to me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I must like it, too. I've made at least 6 using that pattern!
DeleteOh, wow, pick a favorite from four wonderful quilts? So hard! I think I actually like Cottage Joy the best, but it's almost tied with the Monsters and Aliens. Well, as I said, I think they are all great. Thanks for the chance to win the pattern free. I would love to make a Cottage Joy quilt for any number of charities.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan. I think they all are great, too because of the fabric! It does all the work. (And I figured out how to reply on my blog - using my laptop! Go figure!)
