Delectable Mountains
Today is the last day of 2026 and our block for today is NOT Happy New Year! It's Delectable Mountains, which is a vintage block. I changed it, however, in a variation that I've used for several years.
First, here's the block as made by Leslie P., one of my Calendar Girls. She used the Noteworthy Collection by Windham Fabrics.
Here is the calendar file:

I made a quilt last year using a somewhat unorthodox method (not the patches you see here) and I rather enjoyed the variation. I can't describe it here, but it looks the same as my calendar block. The block as it appears in the quilt is turned 90 degrees.

This is another block that "tessellates" with the interlocking of the patches. I used a constant dark print with several bright colors. This was donated to my local quilt guild for our charity outreaches. I'm sure it cheered someone up!
Here is another Delectable Mountains quilt I made using a "ruler trick" with my 60 degree triangle ruler. Notice how the angles are different than the quilt above. I call it Arrowheads and I used the Merry and Mod Collection from Windham Fabrics.
