Gretchen Workshop
Gretchen - NO templates. Just two sizes of triangles. This fits in very well in a 3 hour class when students pre-cut their squares (to triangles). You start sewing right away!
Go scrappy! Pairs of triangles in a multitude of colors create this simple quilt. No special rulers needed!
Gretchen Quilt: 58" x 58". 9" blocks |
Here is the first Gretchen quilt I made and published 15 years ago in Quilt Magazine. Red, black and white print.
And here are some sample blocks from my workshop. I used my precious African Shwe-Shwe fabrics from 45 years ago when I lived in Swaziland!

And in red:

Here is the quilt top I made using every single scrap of these fabrics! More African fabrics for the borders.
How about Kaffe Fassett fabrics? Again, you can see what a scrap buster this is!
16 Block Quilt: 45" x 45" (9" blocks with borders) |
And one more - yes, I love this pattern and my students do, too. This is only the top; it has since been quilted and donated to a local charity.
