The Third (Quilt) Twin

CONTEST IS OVER: I HAVE MY FIVE CORRECT RESPONSES!

Sometimes when I'm stuck and need inspiration, I dig around in my computer files of thousands of designs and ideas and photos of real quilts. I discovered this morning that I had proposed a design for Michael Miller Fabrics that was based on a quilt I had in my second book, Supersize 'Em Quilts (2009).

Here it is from that book. I called it Glorious Blooms and used a beautiful collection by Blank Fabrics. Those 4 blocks are 20" square!

I made a single block a few years ago using a collection by Ana Griffin called Chinoiserie. Somehow I think I donated this to the free table at a guild meeting! Isn't it just lovely?!

Those center squares are cut 11-1/2". It's a perfect place to showcase a lovely motif, don't you think?

Then I discovered I had proposed this design in 2019 for Michael Miller Fabrics for their Renaissance Collection. Did they pick it up? Crickets . . .

As you may remember in a recent blog post, the final say in these things has to go past the "suits" in the corporate office. These suits don't quilt nor do they sew. They just sign the checks!

But, wait! This is a THIRD quilt. I thought I was talking about twins! This reminds me of a book called "The Third Twin." What a funny title. Do you know who authored it? He's very famous, btw.

The first 5 CORRECT replies to this question will receive a FREE pdf copy of this simple pattern. Yes, you will - but make sure I have your email!

  2. I assume you're thinking of the one by Ken Collette. There is another book of the same title by C J Omololu. My guild meeting this week discussed what to do with fabric you don't want to cut up. This pattern would be a good option.

  3. Ken Follett? Rcoyle@olemiss.edu. I love blocks that show off special fabric.
