Blog Housekeeping and a Sneak Peek
As you know, Blogger will be stopping the auto notification for my blog followers sometime soon. I looked around for a suitable replacement and settled on Follow.it. It is NOT suitable. I have had multiple "unsubscribes" in the past 2 months like never before. I don't think that's because of the quilting theme; I think it's because of the tabloid links Follow.it puts BY DEFAULT at the bottom of my posts. I have NO CONTROL over that.
Therefore, I am discontinuing Follow.it. I will delete the subscription and hope for the best. I know many of you signed up for it. Trust me - I would unsubscribe from my own blog if I was seeing this every day!
Now for the sneak peek. I'm having "Shot Cotton Week" all next week. Five days featuring the glorious cottons referred to as "shot cottons" as seen in the photo above. I share quilts and projects each week. Hope you'll come back and see them.
Maybe make a note on your computer to visit my blog once a week and check out what's been happening. But, believe me, Follow.it is NOT the way I want you to come in!
I use Feedly to read all my blogs.
ReplyDeleteHi, Helma. I now realize there are all sorts of options for folks to follow blogs they want to hear from. Never heard of Feedly. Will check it out.
DeleteI actually follow you on Bloglovin and haven't had any problems so far. Keeping my fingers crossed because so many things have been changing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I get a Bloglovin email every day with a variety of blog posts. Some I'm sure I never signed up for, but all craft related. I just can't worry about it. But glad that my blog buddies can still read what I write! Thanks for your continued interest!
DeleteI put you on my Chrome RSS feed reader. But I'm still getting emails from Bloglovin where I also follow you. Except for one day a couple days ago where there was some glitch that the Bloglovin post links wouldn't work. But then it corrected itself. I also follow some blogs on follow.it - the ads at the bottom don't bother me. I "see" that they are there, but I don't "look" at them.

Yes, I guess I shouldn't complain. It's all free to me and I'm happy to be able to have a platform that continues to work. I pay for my MailChimp email lists, but it's nominal. Thanks for following along on my quilting journies!
DeleteI put a shortcut on my desktop to your blog since I wasn't getting the Follow. It every day. Sometimes I got two in one day. I don't always remember to click on the link everyday, whereas the email reminds me. (Except for the days I can't get to my email.)
